This class is the first step to register for our high school completion program. Find out if HiSET(formerely GED) is a good fit for you, or is an adult education diploma a better option?  

Come meet with our staff, learn what can be accomplished at RSU13 Adult & Community Education, and complete the registration paperwork needed to begin a learning program.

*Note that students choose just one of the session dates listed below to register.*

At the end of the Info & Enrollment Session, students will receive a link to register for the Foundations Course (required) to begin their academic program. Students may choose take schedule free HiSET practice tests (optional). Practice tests take approximately 45 minutes to complete and will be scheduled separatley. 

Registration requested, but not required to attend an Info & Enrollment Session in-person.

Registration is required for virtual attendance so we can send you a secure meeting link. Complete the registration for the student attending the class. 

Two of the great benefits to your Google account are Google Drive and Google Docs. Google Drive is free cloud storage and Google Docs is Google’s free alternative to MS Word. In this class you will learn how to store and manage your files online as well as use the Google Docs platform where you can create stunning documents.

This class requires a device connected to the internet and an active Gmail account. It will be held at RSU 13 Adult and Community Education in the McLain School at 28 Lincoln St., Rockland, ME 04841.

Unlock more of the benefits of your iPhone camera. Learn how to make video calls (Facetime), take and share photos, take and share videos, and how to back them up. 

If you have a smartphone that isn’t an iPhone, this might be the class for you. We’ll go over the basic functions of Android smartphones, including adjusting settings like text size and sounds, keeping your data secure, and accessing the internet. 

To get the most out of this class, you should already have a smartphone. But anyone is welcome to attend. 

Learn how to format text, use paragraph dialog boxes, add indents, work with tables and columns, and do more with your documents.

This course requires a Windows or Mac computer connected to the internet and MS Word 2016 or later on your device.

It will be held at RSU 13 Adult and Community Education in the McLain School at 28 Lincoln St., Rockland, ME 04841.

For any and all students who are prepping for Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology or other competitive majors, this is an excellent opportunity to meet the admissions "Chemistry with lab" prerequisite. If you have been away from science courses for a while, this course is recommended to prep you for rigorous college science classes. Students who successfully complete this class will earn 1 high school credit. It will be offered entirely online, with required weekly review sessions conducted via Zoom. This course is provided at no cost to students through the Maine College and Career Access Services grant and RSU13 Adult & Community Education.

A required instructional period will be Mondays from 7:30-8:30pm on Zoom. An additional Zoom review session will be offered each week. Students are required to attend these sessions. If a student is unable to attend this session, they must communicate with the course instructor.

  This class is available for students enrolled in an Adult Education high school completion program, or post-secondary students who are enrolled or plan to enroll in a college or career training program within 18 months. At this time, it is not intended as a credit recovery program for currently enrolled high school students in the K-12 system.
