Yoga for Every Body
with Katie Beane-Lewis, Portland Adult Education
There is no wrong way to have a body and there is no wrong body for yoga. ! The practice of yoga benefits every body and this class is especially designed for people who may not feel like they fit the description of the typical yoga student. While you do not need to be a specific size, shape, or ability level to attend, special attention will be paid to modifications for larger bodies and bodies with mobility and/or flexibility challenges. Classes will move through a modified slow flow and offered in a manner that respects and celebrates differences and encourages strength building, balance, flexibility, and self-acceptance. Breathwork and meditation will also be explored.

The stability ball targets strength, balance, core, and so much more. Enjoyable and challenging techniques will insert this versatile and powerful tool into your fitness routine. Herbal Tea Tasting
with Mischa Shuler, Portland Adult Education
We'll sit on the grass together, sharing the experience of a tea - we'll notice how it lands on the mucous membranes of our mouth - is it warming, cooling, moistening, drying - what do our senses tell us about this plant's gifts - to where else in the body does it travel? Together we'll intuitively uncover the medicinal properties of the plant we're connecting with, as the nearly Full Moon rises over Peaks Island at 6:30pm. Mugs and tea provided. Meet at Cleeves Memorial on the Eastern Prom.
