Calendar Aug 5, 2019 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

MISSION:CODE is a unique summer camp experience that allows kids to learn essential coding skills while also engaging in active games and hands-on learning.

Each coding session provides kids with a fundamental skill set including algorithms, functions, relative directions and sequences. The combination of online activities paired with engaging offline activities like scavenger hunts, programming a witty robot inventing a droid, code-cracking mysteries and team robotics challenges that keep kids active and reinforce coding skills is a winning formula for fun in the summer!

Children will be given access to this coding platform for up to 1 year. Additional take-homes include building and developing a board game and puzzles that help children practice their computational skills at home.

with Taryn Friedman, MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education

Calendar Jul 22, 2019 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

Join Mad Science for a week of discovery and fun in this five-day Robotics Camp! Investigate robotic fundamentals with curious robots, learn about the history and current field of robotics, explore robot design potential by using robots that have big personalities, and build ingenious robots to take home. Compare, analyze, and test a variety of robots everyday that are correlated to the daily concepts. We will explore circuits, electricity, sensors, gears, and advanced robotic applications. Learn about the mechanical aspects of robots with gears, gear ratios, and torque. Pick up the basics of electricity by snapping together circuits to make a remote control rover robot. Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, industrial robots, app-controlled performance bots, robotic pets, the worlds smartest and smallest robot, and so much more! Our future roboticist's round out the week getting more in depth experience programming robots as they cycle through programming stations that will enrich their understanding of programming.

For Ages 6-12 years (Entering Grades 1-6)

We welcome all children to become the creative camper's that will design tomorrow's robots today!
