Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar but simply find it difficult to find the time?  In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won’t have to take private lessons to do it.  This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing along with your favorite songs right away.  Since this class is being held online with ZOOM, you will be able to sit at home with your guitar and take this class without any pressure at all.   And since the class includes an online book and online follow-up video lessons, you will be able to continue your practice and study on your own.  An optional periodic online question and answer session is also included.   A recording of the class is included as well.  Class limited to 15 students.  For ages 13+.

  •       How chords work in a song
  •       How to form the three main types of chords
  •       How to tune your guitar
  •       Basic strumming patterns
  •       How to buy a good guitar (things to avoid)
  •       How to play along with simple tunes

The chord method is LOTS of fun and dramatically easier to learn than reading notes. Fee includes the online book, online follow up lessons, a recording of the class and also an optional periodic question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom and is partly hands on instruction and partly lecture demonstration. Ages 13+

  • How to get more out of sheet music by reading less of it

Freeport Shopping Bus Trip

We are headed to FREEPORT!!!

The holidays are coming! Come join us for a fun filled day of outlet shopping in Freeport, Maine! Enjoy a comfortable, stress free ride on our Motor Coach Bus (aka "Big Blue") and leave the driving to us. Seating is limited, so sign up early!

We will meet the bus at 6:00 am at the Barton Street parking lot and ride to Freeport for a fun filled day of shopping. We will leave Freeport at 6:00 pm and arrive home around 10:30 pm. We can pick up passengers along our route in Houlton or Bangor, be sure to contact us directly to coordinate this. We encourage you to bring a tote or laundry basket with your name on it to store under the bus to keep all of your bags full of treasures. The bus will meet us at two different times outside L.L. Bean for you to drop off your purchases and continue on your way. Lunch and dinner will be on your own, please plan accordingly. 

We need a minimum 20 people to go for this trip to happen.  We have dropped the price to make it a little more affordable.  After Oct 1st if you need to cancel, it will be non refundable.

Register online or call the Adult Education office at 764-4776.  Please understand that this is a trip through a school so alcohol on the bus is not permitted.
