Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a form of exercise that combines breathing techniques and slow, deliberate movements intended to improve health and muscle tone. Practicing the gentle movements of Tai Chi can calm the mind, strengthen the body, and improve balance. Let Chris be your guide as you work alongside her toward a more peaceful and flexible self. Chris has been an active participant in Tai Chi for over 15 years. 8-week session. Registration: $60. For ALL ages and fitness levels! REGISTER EARLY TO ENSURE THAT CLASS WILL RUN.

First Aid
with Charissa Kerr, AHA CPR & First Aid Instructor, RSU16 Adult Education
This class includes basic instruction for medical emergencies, bleeding that you can see, bleeding you cannot see, treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. This class is taught to the standards established by American Heart Association using a blend of PowerPoint and video, instructor and practical components. Participants will earn a certificate of completion.
Workbook is NOT included in the $45 registration fee but can be purchased for an additional $10. If you would like one, please let us know at the time of registration - and bring $10 cash to the instructor on the evening of class.
Sewing Curious - Session 1

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at sewing but didn't want to invest in a machine? Did someone give you a machine and you don't know where to begin? Come join us for a two-hour intro class - you can use one of our sewing machines or bring your own and our instructor will explain sewing machine and fabric cutting basics, then help you make a reversable shopping bag. We will supply fabric, thread and the instructor! We have two machines available for use for those who do not have one! Spots are limited to 6.

Sebago Lake Kayak Lesson & Historical Tour

This two hour course will beginwith a safety briefing and lesson covering the fundamentals ofrecreational kayaking. Using the EZ launching system at SebagoTrails Paddling, the tour will explore the water-carved bendsand twists of a meandering stream unveiling local wildlife in arustic backdrop. Then continue onto Jordan Bay of Sebago Lakeas the guides share stories dating back to the settlements of theSebago Lake region. Come for the beautiful lake views and leavewith your new favorite hobby! This is a great experience foranyone looking to get outdoors. Acadian Arts Asian Fusion Cooking Retreat: Roosevelt Campobello International Park, Canada

Your instructor, Chris Toy, is the author of 6 popular cookbooks, a private chef, and has taught Asian fusion cooking for several Maine community education programs. Cooking students will learn how to prepare a variety of recipes from Asia, Europe, and the Americas, incorporating traditional and local ingredients. Each meal will actively engage cooks with the tools, techniques, and stories behind the dishes being created. $595 includes a workshop fee, all meals, and special activities to extend your learning from the day’s workshops.

Step back to a time when President Franklin Roosevelt, Eleanor, and their family escaped to their "beautiful little island" in the Canadian Maritimes. Workshop participants will explore and paint the same coastal scenery enjoyed by the summer residents at the turn of the 20th century. Acadian Arts Retreat Watercolor Painting at Roosevelt Campobello International Park, New Brunswick, Canada with Mary Laury
August 15 - 18, 2025
Your instructor, Mary Laury is an accomplished watercolorist and highly esteemed teacher. She encourages all her students to believe they can be successful. Painting is an exciting medium; it flows and moves and does beautiful things. If you have never painted in watercolors, we will start at the beginning. If you have painted before, you will pick up some new tips and tricks as well. We all learn together!
