How to Get Hired: Focus on Performance!

Free

with Cassie Robichaux, Central Lincoln County Adult Education

Calendar May 7, 2024 at 6:30 pm, runs for 1 week

This class is all about interviewing, specifically how to use the S.T.A.R. method and how to give performance-based answers that highlight your ability to do the work required, even if you don’t have the skills and experience … yet. If you want to set yourself apart from the crowd and increase your chances at employment, you have to learn how to focus on performance. If you’re nervous about interviewing and want to learn some tips that will give you control as an interviewee, this is the class for you! 1:1 support is available as a follow up for anyone who needs interviewing practice. Students must have an audio- and video-enabled laptop, desktop, or tablet with reliable internet to participate in class. We do not recommend using a smartphone.

Calendar Aug 7, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Are you interested in obtaining a USCG Captain's License? Do you want to learn the difference between an Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) license and a Master 100GT license, and what experience the Coast Guard requires for each? These informational session will help answer these questions and others about the two licenses. Also discussed will be the different methods for completing the course requirements.

We plan to offer both courses in Maine during the Fall of 2024, representing the Captain School Key West / Miami. This information session is free, but please register in advance, so the instructor knows how many individuals will be attending and can send login instructions.
