This class is all about interviewing, specifically how to use the S.T.A.R. method and how to give performance-based answers that highlight your ability to do the work required, even if you don’t have the skills and experience … yet. If you want to set yourself apart from the crowd and increase your chances at employment, you have to learn how to focus on performance. If you’re nervous about interviewing and want to learn some tips that will give you control as an interviewee, this is the class for you! 1:1 support is available as a follow up for anyone who needs interviewing practice. Students must have an audio- and video-enabled laptop, desktop, or tablet with reliable internet to participate in class. We do not recommend using a smartphone.

CLC Adult Education and LincolnHealth co-sponsor a FREE 130-hour minimum Certified Nursing Assistant training course. This CNA program is open to all adults by application only. Successful graduates are eligible to work in many areas of the healthcare field. The course is open to all adults by application and interview process. Applications are now available. You may call LincolnHealth Education (563-4540) to have an application packet sent to you. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET in order to be considered for the course. *** Maine Health CNA Paid Apprenticeship Program *** (Subject to availability) Earn while you Learn Maine Health and Adult Education throughout the midcoast region are offering an “Earn while you Learn” opportunity. Through a paid apprentice program, you can earn money for your CNA training with an expected commitment to work in a care setting for 12 months. Apprenticeship candidates are eligible for benefits including health insurance. An application and interview are required to be considered for this program. A limited number of applicants are accepted. To receive an application or more information please call Lincoln Health Education at 563-4540.

Naloxone (Narcan) Administration Training 5.14.24

Keeping Naloxone (Narcan Nasal Spray) on hand can help save a life. Having a kit nearby could help a friend, family member, or someone in the community in the event of an emergency. This Narcan administration training will guide you through how to use Narcan as well as helpful information on opioids and how Narcan interacts with these substances.

This training is free, on behalf of Healthy Lincoln County–a tier two distributor of Narcan in the State of Maine. Upon completion of this training you will receive one kit, with two doses of Narcan, to add to your first aid kit or AED box. Additionally, you will receive supplemental resources to have on hand should you want to review what was discussed in the live training event.

Will Matteson is the Substance Use Prevention Coordinator at Healthy Lincoln County. He is passionate about advocating for Community Saturation of Narcan and spreading the word about this important first aid tool.

Are you interested in obtaining a USCG Captain's License? Do you want to learn the difference between an Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) license and a Master 100GT license, and what experience the Coast Guard requires for each? These informational session will help answer these questions and others about the two licenses. Also discussed will be the different methods for completing the course requirements.

We plan to offer both courses in Maine during the Fall of 2024, representing the Captain School Key West / Miami. This information session is free, but please register in advance, so the instructor knows how many individuals will be attending and can send login instructions.

You will learn everything you need to know about Zoom—tools, settings, security, instructional strategies, building community, Zoom tips for instructors and students, and much more.
