So You Want to open an Airbnb?
with Debra Arter, Central Lincoln County Adult Education

Please note that the date for this class has changed from the one listed in our Spring / Summer 2025 brochure. The new date is Tuesday, May 13th.
Did you know that the number of people turning to choosing Airbnb for lodging in Maine has almost doubled from two years ago? The revenue earned by Airbnb owners in Maine topped $100 million in 2020. If you have entertained the idea of opening up your guest bedroom or summer camp for short term rental, this is a class not to miss. The instructor, herself an Airbnb owner, has interviewed many other Airbnb or VRBO owners and put together a packet with good information, tips and actual stories of unusual events in the life of a short term landlord. This course will address issues dealing with ordinance, insurance, expectations, fees, hosting, guests, safety, communication, neighbors and more.

Captain's License Information Night 8.6.25
with John Coffin, Central Lincoln County Adult Education

Are you interested in obtaining a USCG Captain's License? Do you want to learn the difference between an Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) license and a Master 100GT license, and what experience the Coast Guard requires for each?
This informational session will help answer these questions and others about the two licenses. The different methods for completing the course requirements will also be discussed.
We plan to offer both courses in Maine during the Fall 2025, representing the Captain School Key West / Miami.
This information session is free, but please register in advance, so the instructor knows how many individuals will attend and can send login instructions.
