Learn to Move Through Life with Ease:The Alexander Technique

Want to learn to do the things you both enjoy and need to do, more easily and with less tension and effort? Then the Alexander Technique is for you! This well-established technique has a long history of helping people regain poise and ease in activities ranging from sitting at the computer, to gardening, to playing a musical instrument. Come discover the technique that has helped people all over the world, for over 100 years!
Judy Pagon has taught the Alexander Technique for over 35 years to people from ages 6 to 86, from individual lessons to large groups, community centers to colleges, and classrooms to rehearsal halls. Judy also has a private studio and teaches both individuals and groups, both in-person and online.
The Maine Death with Dignity Act

There is still a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about Maine's compassionate end-of-life care option. Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine's Death with Dignity Act. In effect since September 2019, the law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. Know the facts and, if qualified, the right to access medical aid in dying if they choose. Join this class to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine's law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved one who may be qualifying. (No materials/supplies required).
Valerie Lovelace is the founder and executive director of Maine Death with Dignity, a 501©(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is end-of-life education and patient advocacy. She has a masters degree from Husson University in Bangor and is an ordained interfaith minister. Valerie co-authored Maine’s Death with Dignity Act and led the grassroots movement in Maine for medical aid in dying from 2013-2019 when the law passed.

This is not your typical yoga class!! Do you wonder if you are doing the pose right? Does it hurt when you are in a pose? This two-week workshop is 100% focused on postural structure, alignment, breathing, and finding comfort within a pose. Our time together will consist of getting into a variety of poses, receiving feedback, making adjustments, and gaining deeper awareness within our bodies. Bring your yoga mat, props and burning yoga pose questions or concerns. Together we can find the adjustments that get your practice flowing and create a newfound body awareness to take off the mat into your daily life.
Jade Nelson is a retired bodyworker who continues to share her skills of observation and intuition through the practice of yoga, meditation and holistic education. When she steps onto the mat to guide others or herself, she believes it is a slow and loving walk to meet our truest selves.

Carole’s background has been equal portions of respiratory therapy, exercise physiology, and massage therapy. Her career as a respiratory therapist began at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she discovered that most adult patients were in the hospital because of poor lifestyle choices. That inspired her to attend graduate school at LLUMC, majoring in Health Sciences. She now focuses her work in a relatively new field of pulmonary medicine - recognizing and treating breathing disorders. She has personally benefited from improved breathing patterns, “I have found that each day I was mindful of my breathing pattern, I gained more energy, and my breathing became easier. It felt like I was turning the clock back as I continued to gain strength and endurance.”
