Learn the basics of MS Excel. We will cut, copy, paste, become familiar with fonts, format cells, merge and center, learn number formatting, auto sum, sort and filter charts, learn functions and formulas, hide columns/rows, split, freeze panes, and much more! We will also look at compatibility with other MS Office Suite products. Students will need to bring a thumb drive to class. Limit 12 students.

Understand the Settings menu, OS Updates, camera, calendar, contacts, messaging, installing apps and more. Learn also how to multitask, conserve battery life, monitor your data usage and how/when to switch to an available WiFi connection to conserve your expensive data plan. Bring your iPhone/iPad.

The 180 hour Certified Nursing Assistant Course is designed to prepare the student to be a Nursing Assistant. Call the Adult Ed Office at 778-3460 for application, registration requirements and placement on a waiting list. Details regarding dates, location and fees will be provided to participants as the class list is completed.

Assessments required

Do you have a desire to care for elderly and start working in the healthcare field? Be a Certified Nursing Assistant and enjoy the outstanding benefits that you get in this industry.

 First, you must complete a state-approved education program. Next, you must pass a competency exam. Requirements vary from state to state, so check with our program for details.

 The course will consist of one hundred (180) hours of instruction. Ninety (90) hours will be spent in the classroom, twenty (20) hours skills lab, and seventy (70) hours of clinical experience in a long-term health-care facility.

This course, designed with University of Maine at Augusta and Kennebec Valley Community College, will assist students to develop the skills necessary to be successful in college. The class will cover topics such as college applications, FAFSA and financial aid, study skills, time management, and more in a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere. The class will be offered in three modules. Students may take one or all three modules. If all three modules are completed successfully students may be eligible for college credits and/or scholarship opportunities. (3 UMA credits/1 KVCC credit) No class Oct. 12.
