Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for the course.

However, once registered, there is a cost of $3,200 to enroll in the class itself.

This is an online course.

Your registration doesn't secure your spot in the class.  Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professionals.  Payments go directly to American Medical Professionals.  They offer multiple payment methods.

After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professionals.

Once you have filled out the paperwork and the information requested, Academy of Medical Professionals will reach out to you to complete your registration process.

Become nationally Certified in 10 weeks as a Phlebotomy Technician.  Our course is all-inclusive and prepares you for National Certification with live classes via Zoom (Tuesdays) and in-person skills labs (Thursdays starting after week 4).  You will be able to perform basic phlebotomy venipuncture procedures, answer patient questions, perform basic point-of-care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients, and prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards. 

$3,200 included Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) National Certification through NHA, books, resumes, and job assistance.

Maine Veterans' Home, in collaboration with Augusta Adult and Community Education and the Maine Community College System, is offering a FREE, state-approved CNA training program.

CNAs are caregivers who work directly with patients and residents to assist them with their activities of daily living, including their safety and comfort.

This course will be hosted by Maine Veterans’ Homes in Augusta at their new state-of-the-art facility located at 35 Heroes Way Augusta Maine. Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn the art of caregiving in a holistic healthcare model and give back to our Honored Veterans, their spouses, and Gold Star family members.

C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) 

This course will provide you with the skills and experiences to be Maine State Certified as a Nursing Assistant. The course includes the 130 hours required by the State of Maine consisting of a minimum of 70 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of lab time, and 40 hours of clinical work. Students who complete the course will be eligible to sit for the Maine CNA competency test.

Requirements Include: State background check, orientation and satisfactory score on the CASAS math and reading assessment, proof of physical within the last year, immunization records, and a willingness to fully commit to the compact 8 week summer training schedule. 

*Proof of physical and vaccination record required as per state requirements and clinical agreement with our clinical partner.

Dates: Begins March 5, 2024 

Fee: $1,850 (includes non refundable background check fee)

Financial assistance available for eligible students and will be discussed at orientation. 

Class size is limited so applying early is advised.

Students enrolled in this certificate program complete a minimum of 130 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training, meeting all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the state competency exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. Funding opportunities are available through the Pen Bay Apprentice Program's "Earn While You Learn" option, as well as several other programs. The primary purpose of the Babysitter’s Training course is to provide youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to give care safely and responsibly for children and infants, such as diapering, bottle- and spoon-feeding, age-appropriate games, activities, and dealing with uncooperative children. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills and become better babysitters. They will learn how to build a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, and learn about basic childcare and basic first aid. This training is designed for youths ages 11 to 15.
