This is an online course. There are set times for classes.
Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for the course. However, once registered, there is a cost of $3,200 to enroll in the class. Your registration doesn't secure your spot in the class. Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professionals. Payments go directly to American Medical Professionals. They offer multiple payment methods.
After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professionals. Once you have filled out the paperwork and the requested information, Academy of Medical Professionals will contact you to complete your registration process.

This 12-week all-inclusive Certificate program in Dental Assisting is one of the most high-demand careers. This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assisting and provide you with the skills you need to work in this field and pass a national certificate exam. This program is taught by a Dentist and includes an opportunity for internships. We can now offer an option for Lab days, please ask for more details! The price of the course includes all books, exam preparation materials, and fees for the DANB RHS certificate program. Upon passing the DANB RHS, you will receive a certificate of knowledge based on competency for that component from DANB.

CNA Certified Nursing Assistant - Sept 2024

Students enrolled in this certificate program complete a minimum of 130 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training, meeting all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the state competency exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. Funding opportunities are available through the Pen Bay Apprentice Program "Earn While You Learn", Goodwill Work Force Grant, as well as many other community programs. Prerequisite: high school diploma or equivalent.
Welding - MIG I (Sept 2024)

This 36-hour (GMAW) course is for students with little or no experience in MIG welding. This course will cover shop safety, troubleshooting problems, machine settings, basic metal joints and how to weld them. Safety is covered in the first two sessions. Upon course completion, students may enroll in MIG II or TIG Welding. Students provide their own safety glasses, welding gloves, and reinforced-toe footwear. Please be sure to complete the 2-part form at this link before the first class.
Basic Life Support Refresher (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Coast Guard Captain License

Coast Guard Captain License The USCG Approved Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel “Blended Course” qualifies students for a Coast Guard license to operate vessels carrying up to six passengers for hire (OUPV). The fee includes access to the Blended OUPV course using Captain School Key West’s Learning Management System, charts, navigation tools, and the USCGapproved and accepted test. Online sessions start on 9/18, and runs through 11/8. Students’ progress will be monitored online by the instructor, and students will have assignments to complete. During this time, there will be online mentoring and coaching using Zoom, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evenings.Once online requirements are complete, 16 hours of inperson classroom sessions will be followed by U.S. Coast Guard-approved and required examinations, all in Maine. Details will be shared during the 8/7 Captains Information Sessions on Zoom, so please register for the free session. Students must have an audio- and video-enabled laptop, desktop, or tablet with reliable internet to participate in class. We do not recommend using a smartphone. Instructor: John E. USCG Approved Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel License - Online & In Person

Qualify to apply for the Coast Guard license to operate vessels carrying up to six passengers for hire (OUPV). The fee includes access to the Blended OUPV Course using Captain School Key West Learning Management System, charts, navigation tools, and the USCG-approved and accepted test. Students will participate in 30 asynchronous online class hours, including 12-16 hours of online mentoring and coaching via Zoom. In addition, the instructor will mentor student progress and students have assignments to complete. Once online requirements are complete, there will be 16 hours of required in-person classroom sessions (Saturdays, in Topsham), concluding with the four Coast Guard-approved and required examinations. John Coffin has held his USCG License since 1985 and has operated charter vessels in the Florida Keys and ME. He is a Master ME Guide and a certified Boating Instructor for the National Safe Boating Council.
