- Citizenship Test prep

Designed for ESOL level 4 students and up, this course teaches keyboarding, basic computer vocabulary, how to use internet and email, and how to create files. Online Registration is not available for this course. It may be subject to certain prerequisites or inventory requirements. This class is for students who can already read music a little. Perhaps you can read music in the treble clef, but you’d like to become more proficient and learn the bass clef as well. Maybe you took piano lessons when you were a child, but stoppedwhen you got busier in high school, and would now like to ignite the embers of that knowledge. Depending on the individual student, this course can proceed to an understanding of scales, keys and chords.

Be better than a map app! Learn basic navigation and chart/map reading. We will be making our own accurate map/chart and learning compass reading as it relates to true directions. This information is applicable to land, sea and air. This course can expand to introduce nautical/air-nautical navigation to set up for Merchant Marine or Pilot’s license.  

Materials: Will be provided by instructor fee TBD, pay instructor at 1st class. 

HOMEMADE GOAT MILK SOAP

Over the course of 2 sessions, we will transform common kitchen ingredients into beautiful handcrafted soap. On the first night, we will briefly discuss the science of soap making, safety tips, tools and ingredients. Then using a basic recipe we will combine vegetable oils and goat milk into a simple but luxurious soap the likes of which you will not find on the grocery store shelf. On the second night we will expand our repertoire by adding the color, scent, and/or exfoliant of your choice. Each participant will go home with serveral bars of soap.                     Materials: $15 pay to instructor at 1st class

If you have never even picked up a Uke, no-problemo!! We’ll learn just enough of the fundamentals to start playing simple songs right away. The focus of the class is to have fun, make new friends, build confidence and develop enough portable skills to enable the Uke to be your longtime pal. We will provide you with simple instructional materials for class, and links to access virtually limitless royalty-free resources on the web. If you have a Uke and tuner already..bring them! Baritones OK, but please let us know when you sign up! Uke-less? We have a limited number of loaners available. Call early to reserve yours.
