Medical Administrative Assistant with Medical Billing
with Academy of Medical Professions, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education
•Medical Administrative Assistant- 16 Weeks. Classes are held once a week for 2 hours via Zoom and are recorded. You may choose to attend the course Live via Zoom or Self-paced by watching the recorded classes; both program options have instructor support. You will learn HIPAA compliance and health information in the medical office, insurance and billing procedures, financial and practice management, and administrative duties. In addition, we take you through the “virtual medical office” which gives you the opportunity to practice “real” medical office skills before entering the workforce. All books, virtual materials, and CMAA Exam Fees are included. $3,200.
•Medical Administrative Professional Program- 36 Weeks. This course track combines two programs: Medical Administrative Assistant with Billing, as well as Medical Coding with CPC-A, leaving you with 2 national certifications. It also includes our programs at a discounted rate. The Medical Professional courses are designed to be completed one after the other; course timing will be coordinated with you by our Education Advisors. Both programs offer Live Classes via Zoom and Self-Paced options; you may mix and match. This course includes all resources, books, and exam fees for both the Medical Administrative Assistant with Billing and the Medical Coding with CPC-A. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS All applicants must be 18 years of age. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is also required by program completion. Basic computer skills required.

16-week all-inclusive National Certification course with Billing Certificate. This course provides practical real-world skills essential for success in the healthcare field and is entirely online. You will learn Medical Terminology, Medical Front Office Skills, Electronic Medical Records (Boot Camp), and Medical Billing. This Certificate Program includes the CMAA (Certified Medical Administrative Assistant). Certification exam through the National Healthcare Association (NHA) and Billing Certificate from the Academy.
$3,200 includes National Certification, all books, fees, and resume and job assistance.

MEDICAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT WITH MEDICAL BILLING

Grant Writing Basics

During this course, we will explore the elements of grantsmanship. While writing a wellcrafted and compelling grant proposal is critical to successful funding, it does not stand alone. The process also requires research, program development, budgeting, and evaluation. This four-week course will examine all the necessary components and skill sets of successful grant writing.

Prepare for college statistics with our unique online course! Get a head start on learning the terms, symbols, and graphing calculator. This online course is for students who have placed into college statistics or those who are retaking the class.
Class will meet weekly on Zoom. Delayed viewing is available on an individual basis. Students will need a laptop, tablet or desktop (not a phone) with a camera and microphone, as well as high speed internet. Ideally, students will either have a TI-83 or 84 calculator to use or online statistical software. Outside homework will be given: expect 2-3 hours of homework a week outside of class. Students need recent assessment scores, which can be taken with us. No class April 16, 2024.

Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) via Zoom

CRMAs are in high demand! They work with people who need medications including but not limited to older adults, adults with disabilities, persons with mental illness, and persons with intellectual disabilities. They can work in residential care, assisted living and adult day settings.
The responsibilities of a Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) include administering medications in a safe, proper, and accurate manner, recording and documenting the administration of medications, reporting incidents, sustaining knowledge of Resident Rights, while maintaining patient confidentiality.
This 40-hour course provides the standardized State of Maine training for professionals working in state-certified residential care homes. It covers: State of Maine regulations, standard residential facility policies, basic anatomy and physiology, safe administration procedures, taking vital signs, transcribing physician orders, and documenting procedures on the Medication Administration Record per Maine’s regulations governing residential facilities.
Certification awarded on successful completion of the course, successful medication passes in clinical, and 40 hours of required attendance. Participants must be 18 or older. No high school credential required.

Tu/Th evenings 5:30-8:30p on 3/12, 14, 19 & 21 plus
Sa/Su days 8am-4:30p 3/23 & 24
Clinical in person on Sa 3/30 from 6:30a-3pm - location to be announced
Re-certification is required every 2 years.

This certificate program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy and physiology, Step-by-step coding, CPC-A exam, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required.
Online only with Live One-on-One sessions with the instructor through Zoom twice weekly.
