Calendar Dec 7, 2019 at 9 am, runs for 1 week

Participants will learn to recognize and provide care for persons of all ages who have experienced a sudden illness or injury until Emergency Medical Services arrive and take over. Following current Emergency Cardiac Care guidelines, students will learn to recognize a heart attack and what do in this situation, including providing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Students will also learn to recognize stroke, breathing emergencies, and how to treat burns. Additional skills include caring for choking adults, children and infants, and controlling bleeding, as well as checking responsive persons. Certificate and reference card included. Presented by Maine Safety Education

Learn to fly…for a possible career or simply recreation! Certified flight instructor Jeremy Harmon from Higher Ground Aviation will provide classroom instruction to assist students in passing the FAA written exam, one major step toward certification as a private pilot. In addition to learning FAA regulatory expectations, you’ll learn aerodynamics, aircraft systems, flight controls, weather, navigation, aeromedical factors, airspace, control tower operations, as well as other essential aspects. There is NO requirement for previous aviation knowledge in order to take this class. Actual flight training may begin at any time with your instructor for an additional cost. A short supply list is provided upon enrollment.

Payment plan available: $100 deposit plus 3 payments of $75.00, paid every four weeks.
