Earn your CNA credential once you complete the 130-hour program, pass the State exam and are acceptanced to the State CNA Registry. Classes and labs will meet in person at the Sullivan Learning Center and clinicals will be at local healthcare facilities and/or hospital.

Prerequisites: completed application, documented medical immunization history, meet with student advisor, and complete assessments.

Certified Nursing Assistant course that meet the State requirement of 180 hours (110 hours of classroom/lab and 70 hours of clinical experience) and, if needed, six hours of CPR instruction. Clinicals are held at area healthcare facilities. Upon successful completion of this course, passing the State CNA exam and successful acceptance to the State Registry, you will be a state-certified CNA.

CNAs are caregivers who provide patients assistance with activities of daily living and basic needs. They also help patients feel safe and comfortable throughout their hospital stay. These direct caregivers spend most of their time assisting patients and listening to their concerns. 

This is a class, laboratory, and clinical component course that will prepare the student to take the Maine State Board of Nursing (MSBoN) CNA examination. The course is 180 hours spanning over 20 weeks. Most meeting days are on Saturday, with some Tuesday afternoon/evenings as well. You must attend all sessions. Our clinical partners are Norway Health and Rehabilitation Center and Bridgton Hospital.

The cost of the course does not include the clinical component for those outside of our area.

This programs trains CNAs to administer selected non-injectable medications to patients who are 4 years of age and older. The course consists 120 hours of training, labs and clinicals; class training will be via Zoom and labs and clinicals will be scheduled in-person.

In order to qualify to take this class the Certified Nursing Assistant must:

  • be active and in good standing on the Maine State CNA Registry with no disqualifying annotations 
  • have completed 1200 hours as a CNA in the last 2 years  
  • achieve a 10th grade level on a reading assessment
