Personal Finance

Personal finance is a critical skill for long-term financial success. However, many adults have learned what they know about personal finance as they've progressed through life. What have you missed along the way? No matter what your financial situation is, it is important to understand how to handle your money. This course will familiarize you with the basics of budgeting, including creating and managing a budget, as well as setting financial goals, understanding your credit, tips for saving money, and the basics of investing. Private Ballroom Dance Lessons

Boat America
with U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, York Adult Education
Boat America is a National Association of Boating Law Administrators certificate class that offers an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a boating certificate.
Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course.
Introduction to Boating – Types of power boats, boating vocabulary, sailboats, paddle boats, powering boats, and engine types.
Boating Law – Boat registration, regulations, hull identification numbers, required safety equipment, Federal boating law, state boating law, and reporting accidents.
Safety Equipment – Life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound-producing devices, visual distress signals, anchors, and other safety equipment.
Safe Operation and Navigation – Buoys and beacons, aids to navigation, navigation rules, docking, and the dangers of alcohol on the water.
Boating Emergencies – Hypothermia, boating accidents, man overboard, capsizing, emergency radio calls, carbon monoxide dangers, and weather.
Trailering – Types of trailers, lights, hitches, towing a trailer.
Sports and Boating – Water-skiing, hunting and hunting gear, PWC operation, and other boating tips.

Lighthouse Lovers Cruise at the Maine Maritime Museum
with Steve McGrath, York Adult Education
In the first live online class, we'll start by learning camera settings, aperture, shutter, ISO, white balance and other compositional techniques critical to lighthouse photography. The following Saturday, during the Cruise, we’ll focus on photographing the wildlife and lighthouses, sharing techniques and approaches. Finally, we’ll meet online the following week to share, learn and critique our images. Limited to 15 students. This workshop is for beginner and intermediate photographers.
