This new job coach credential will provide the training you need to help others improve their educational and employment outcomes. Job coaches are responsible for on-site assistance to individuals with disabilities to observe, train, identify their skills, abilities, and barriers to employment. Coaches also act as a liaison between the employer and their employment specialist to enable the individual to maintain employment. Earning the job coach credential consists of two parts: an 18 module training online from the College of Employment Services and a day long face-to-face workshop in Fading Supports in the Workplace. The online modules are on-demand and can be taken at any time once you apply for the credential program via WRAE. The face-to-face workshops take place a few times a year. You can register for one of the Fading Support workshops at: http://www.syntiro.org/calendars.html. Keep in mind you must complete all 18 modules before attending the face-to-face training. Both portions of the training must be completed within six months of registering. Individuals must first sign up for the course through WRAE then we will send you the link to pay for the training registration. The online registration fee for this program is $200 plus a $20 fee for the face-to-face workshop. Both payments must be made prior to starting the online training. For additional information and minimum requirements needed for earning the Job Coach Credential, visit: syntiro.org/job-coach-credential.html, or email Stacia Dugas at sdugas@rsu14.org or call 207-892-1819 with any application/registration questions.
