SOLO Wilderness First Aid

Are you thinking about going on an outdoor trip this summer with family or friends? Are you planning on being a trip leader for a camp or guide service? Are you interested in knowing how to take care of someone if they were hurt in the backcountry? This is a perfect course for someone who would like to get a basic level of first aid training.
The Wilderness First Aid is a 16-hour hands-on course. It will provided a comprehensive look at the standards and skills of dealing with: • response and assessment • musculoskeletal Injuries • environmental emergencies • survival skills • soft tissue injuries • medical emergencies.
All Wilderness First Aid students must have a current CPR card or will need to take a CPR/AED course in an evening session. There will be an additional fee of $30 for if CPR is needed (Pay for the CPR fee at class); this class will be offered Saturday evening.
This course includes 16-hours in class sessions, out of class reading, and a final exam.
Course includes: SOLO Wilderness First Aid book, Wilderness First Aid Map, 2-year WFA Certification, 2-year CPR certification
CEU available. 1.5 CEU
(There will be an extra fee $20 for CEU. Forms will be available in class.)
COVID GUIDELINES - following CDC, UTC, and SOLO guidelines
Masks must be worn while in the building or when closer than 6’
During scenarios and patient assessment participants must wear gowns, masks, gloves and shields. (This will be made available for each student during class.)
Participants will work with a partner during the duration of the course. This will help with limited exposure and still allow students to have a hands-on experience
