A Field Course in Old Barns
with Les Fossel, RSU#12 Adult Education
This is a course for people that have old barns(that maybe need repairs(, or want an old barn, or you just love old barns! The emphasis will be on the practical ways to maintain your old barn at an affordable cost. The first session will be in the classroom, after that, meetings will be held in the old barns of class members. This course is co-sponsered by the Morris Farm Trust in Wiscassett. The last class will be a potluck supper at the instructors house, where class members can visit the intructors shop, barns, and reference library. NOTE: Followinf first class the day and time of future classes will be determined by class members.Les Fossel is one of Maines foremost expert on early buildings. He has helped preserve early building for forty two years.
Becoming a Notary Public
with Carol Davis, RSU#12 Adult Education
This class will give you the information needed to be a Notary. It is a two-night class where the first night will cover the requirements of the State of Maine, and we will work together on some of the important content of the study guide. The first need you receive the study guide to go over for the week, the second night you will get your application and we will go over short test required to apply.
Building a A Shaker Table
with Rick Gallion, RSU#12 Adult Education
This class will cover building a small end table, that is 30 inches high and 16 inches square. This class is for beginner to experienced. The students will make all the componets of the table using both power tools and hand tools. The project will include most of the procedures required for basic woodworking, including tapering table legs, gluing up panels and making mortise and tendon joints. This class is on four Sat. in OCT. wHEN YOU REGISTER PLEASE PICK A WOOD MATERIAL THE LAB FEE FOR WOOD IS AS FOLLOWS: poplar, best for painted projects- $40.00 Oak - 75.00 There is a 50.00 refundable deposit for use of ripstop saw, you can write a check for it and it will be returned to you at the last class.
Bus Drivers Information Class
with Larry Dancer, RSU#12 Adult Education
This information class will tell you about being a bus driver for rsu#12, whether it be full time or part time. This class will explain the paper work need to apply and other requirements. We will also explain how we can help to obtain the license needed to apply and can set up a study group with Adult Ed to help with the written portion of the test. Booklets for the test and applications will be available. Your instructor is Larry Dancer, Operations Manager for RSU#12.
Card Making Made Easy - Session 1

These cards are all hand made from the heart-one you’d be proud to give to anyone. You will never need to go to the store and buy another Birthday, Anniversary or Get-well card, etc. In this class students will learn how to create and design their own cards using new decorating techniques, finishes and additional embellishments. The first Thursday of each month, students will complete a minimum of 3-5 cards each session. Come join a fun filled evening and learn how to make beautiful homemade cards. There will be a door prize each session. All supplies are provided. Students must pay lab fee of four dollars to the instructor on the first night of class. Thirty dollars for all three sessions or 12.00 for one. Lab fee must to paid to instructor, please do not include it in your registration.Lab fee - $4

Let Deb show you how she saved 926.00 over two years on her groceries and supplied her whole family with gift cards through this use of apps on her phone. There are 250 new apps created each week. Deb will cover apps that deal with consumption, investments and shopping of all sorts. Bring your phone to class.
Chinese and Fusion Cooking
with Angela Fagin, RSU#12 Adult Education
Do you want to learn Chinese cooking? Using simple ingredients, we will make authentic, healthy Chinese meals. Your instructor, Angela Fagin is the owner of a gourmet Chinese food business for other twenty years. She is a favorite at local food markets in the coastal area, and is known for her excellent products. She also had a booth at the Common ground fair for many years, there was always a line at Angela's booth! Angela will teach traditional Chinese and the new fusion style cooking, you will make two dishes each class, bring a dish for your own take- out! It is $20.00 each class or all 4 from $75.00 Lab fee of $10.00 paid to instructor for each class.
Cleaning the Healthy Way with essential oils

Want to have a clean and fresh smelling home without using those toxic chemicals that are bad for you and your pets? Then this is the class for you. We will explore how to clean and freshen with nature oils that you can make easily at home. We will discuss why you should use oils and the science behind them. We will go over which oils to use and you will receive recipes for making products for your laundry, bathroom, kitchen, carpets, glass, wood, and even the air. We will make a general cleaning product for you to take home. There is a ten-dollar lab fee paid to the instructor the night of class. This is a one week class.
