Vegetable Farmers have a timeline on starting seeds and which to start inside and which to seed directly into the garden. Julee of Sweet Relief Farm will share her knowledge of seed starting and transplanting them. Many handouts will be available for you to take home. Planning in the fall, will allow you to order your seeds early in the year.

About Julee: Julee Applegarth, of Sweet Relief Farm, has been commercially organic farming for 25 years. Using a greenhouse to start her seedlings, she has learned many effective ways of starting seeds and transplanting to make successful and fruitful gardens.

These placemats feature a focus fabric and are surrounded by complimentary flying geese units. You’ll use a rotary cutter method for this easy and enjoyable procedure. We’ll sew scant quarter inch seams, squaring up blocks for accuracy and you will learn how to machine quilt the sandwich together. Supply list available at the adult ed office. Please do not buy supplies until you are notified that the class will run.

About Jaki: Jaki Soper has been sewing and quilting for over 40 years. She is the owner of Quilt Studio 55, a local business that supports long arm services, studio classes, and custom quilt designs. Her classes comprise of learning simple techniques which allow for truing up sewn units to achieve accuracy. If you are interested in mastering the flying geese units in the placemat class, or sewing with curves in the drunkard path class, then these classes are for you.

Celebrate fall while learning the basics of Swing and West Coast Swing in a relaxed atmosphere. Come join the fun. Couples from the same household only. No singles.

About Ben: Ben has been dancing most of his adult life, either ballroom, square dancing or line dancing. He loves sharing his dance steps with dancers of all levels. One of his biggest joys is seeing the success of his students. He was a former owner of Maine Ballroom Dance in Portland. When not dancing he enjoys bowling and cars and being a DJ at parties and weddings.

Join Brigit McCallum and PAC Maine Staff to raise your awareness, enhance your safety skills and discover strengths you never knew you had. This introduction to Empowerment Self Defense is both serious and fun. In this class for female identified folks, you will take on every day troublesome interactions at work, home, and in public, by learning to set and maintain effective boundaries. Physical self-defense skills are accessible to all regardless of age or fitness level, and are practical, effective, and fun. Develop new skills, explore issues, and move your body. A great class to share with a friend. After this class you will gain increased awareness of the underpinnings of violence, learn basic verbal and physical prevention and response techniques, and gain tools for grounding and managing adrenaline.
