"Be the Beat" Free CPR Program for Children

with Jenny Bamford-Perkins, RSU 25 Adult and Community Education

Did you know? 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes. Unfortunately, only about 46% of people who experience and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest get the immediate help that they need before professional help arrives. Students practice on a manikin while watching skills performed correctly on the DVD, a research-proven way to learn and retain lifesaving CPR skills. This American Heart Association (AHA) program is offered free with CPR instructor, Jenny Bamford-Perkins, MSN, RN. Students will learn to "Be the Beat" and pump blood to a victim's vital organs if they see an adult or teen suddenly collapse. Hand-Only-CPR can double or triple a victim's chance of survival. 1 Session. Class is limited to 20 people ages 10 and up per workshop. Pre-registration is required. You will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion.
