Maine Adult Education

Join our Intermediate English Class, perfect for adults who want to learn more. We make English fun and easy to understand. You'll get to know about American holidays, traditions, and important civic ideas. We have lessons on understanding different cultures and practicing everyday English conversation, as well as intermediate English grammar concepts. Our classes are flexible – you can come in person or join online using Google Classroom. This class is great for anyone looking to get better at English for work, making new friends, or just for fun. Meet Roxanne!

As an MLL instructor at NACE since 2021, Roxanne Heuschkel has taught students at all levels, from beginners to advanced, and additionally offers Citizenship study and TOEFL preparation. Beyond NACE, Roxanne plays a crucial role as the Curriculum Coordinator, advisor, and instructor for the Strengthening Maine Workforce's grant, blending her expertise with a passion for educational innovation.

Roxanne brings over a decade of experience and a global perspective to adult education, having taught for over ten years to students across continents. Her educational journey began as the director of an English language institute for adults in Cusco, Peru, and evolved through tenures in international education in Kuwait as a K-5 MLL instructor and sustainability coordinator, and in Shanghai, China as a High School MLL coach. Additionally, Roxanne has served as an MLL consultant to K-12 schools in Southern Maine. 

Roxanne has three young kiddos and spends her time outside of work enjoying the natural beauty of Maine, reading, and doing art with her family.
