Maine Adult Education

Designed for students who have already completed the introductory course and/or have a roll of black and white film they’d like to learn to make real prints from in Noble’s excellent darkroom facilities. This course will lead students through basic black and white picture printing, learning how to evaluate a black and white negative, operate a photographic enlarger, and choose the correct multi-contrast filter for optimal finished pictures. Students will also leave class understanding basic photographic chemistry. The lab fee will cover the use of the darkroom and costs for chemicals and upkeep.

Participants will need to provide: their own 25-sheet package of multi-contrast, RC photographic paper. A link for where you can purchase the film will be provided.

A lab fee of $15 is due at the start of the class.
