First-Time Homebuyer's Certificate*

with KVCAP Housing Staff, Mid-Maine Regional Adult Community Education

Free

Buying your first house is truly a big deal! Our friends at KVCAP can help you understand the process.

In this 8-hour, in-person class, KVCAP covers everything you need to know about the home-buying process and owning your home going forward. KVCAP teaches you the steps involving shopping for a home, mortgage lender and real estate broker, obtaining a mortgage loan, the importance of home inspections. The class also covers improving your budget and credit profiles and how to maintain your home and finances after the purchase so that you can protect and grow your investment. The class reviews how to avoid falling victim to scams too.

Participants who complete all 8 hours are eligible for A Homebuyers Education Certificate. The certificate can help you access down payment assistance or mortgage products that require HUD-certified homebuyer’s education. It’s good for TWO years with most lenders!

Interested in signing up? Click here to access the KVCAP website to register and reserve your seat! Please note: There is a $30 registration fee per participant to sign up. Space is limited.
