Maine Adult Education

This summer course that runs T/W/Th/F for 1 week will give you a basic understanding of your automobile as well as a possible launching pad to affiliated careers or further study at a community college level. We will cover the basic theory and diagnostics of the following topics, aligned to ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) standards: Foundation and Safety, Basic Engine and Auto Transmission Fundamentals/Service, Steering System and Suspension, and Brakes. By completion of class, the student will have a solid understanding of lubrication, fluids, tires, vehicle maintenance, and how systems work. Safety modules will be assigned to study via a website at home prior to the class starting. This is not a bring-in-your-own-vehicle repair class; applied learning will occur in the shop on a demo vehicle. Student must provide their own safety glasses and reinforced toe footwear.
