This course is a step-by-step guide to changing your name & gender markers to align with your lived identity in Maine. We will discuss the required legal processes from beginning to end, lay out a roadmap for their completion, and examine emotional and practical realities you’ll experience along the way. Taught by trans author Violet Hart (Legalize Me), this course welcomes people of all identities and centers the LGBTQ+ experience in a safe and affirming environment. This course includes a complimentary copy of “Legalize Me: A Comprehensive Guide to Changing Your Name and Gender Markers in the State of Maine.” *No Class: 4/16.
