Mixed Media Collage: Fanciful Christmas Tree

Make Your Own Lotion

The dryness of fall and winter can often affect our skin. In this class we will learn how to make our very own healing lotion. We will discuss the healing power of common herbs for the skin and how to incorporate them into your creation. We will explore different recipes on how to make lotion for the body and face. This is a great class to take if you are wanting to learn how to make hand-made lotion for holiday gifts! *A $10 Material fee is payable to the instructor on the night of class.
Monoprinting on Clay

Hand Stamped Greeting Card: Fall Paper Piecing

In this class, we will follow step by step instructions to create a multi-layered card. We will use one stamp several times to paper piece a stunning image. We will also make a gift card holder to prepare for the holidays. Precut kits and envelopes are provided. Participants need a pair of scissors and colored pencils or markers.
The Art of Har Gow: From Scratch Crystal Shrimp Dumplings

Master one of dim sum's most popular items by making Har Gow (crystal shrimp dumplings) completely from scratch – including the flavorful shrimp filling and the special 'crystal' dough. In this fun session, you'll learn essential techniques: handling the unique wheat starch dough, rolling delicate wrappers, executing classic pleats, and achieving perfect steaming. Perfect for dim sum lovers, you'll leave with the skills, recipe, and tasty results. All ingredients & equipment provided. Allergen Info: Contains shrimp. Wrapper uses wheat starch which may contain trace amounts of gluten.
Image Transfer Rewired

Delve into collage on the first night, crafting a captivating background with vintage papers and paint. Then, unleash your creativity on the second night, revealing the vibrant design. Add finishing touches with a variety of mixed media tools and techniques. Seal your masterpiece with matte varnish for longevity or take it home and continue to work on the details. Don't miss this chance to let your creativity flourish! Kit fee of $25 payable on the first night. *2nd night is 530-730pm.
Repurposed Mosaic Collage or Landscape
with Herenya Wilkey, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education

Using broken pottery, recycled glass and other found object materials we will make truly one of a kind mosaic creations. Bring a nature photo for inspiration or take the abstract path. The first two classes will be for breaking plates, designing and gluing mosaics. The third class will be for grouting and finishing. Tools provided for in class use. A material fee of $20 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class. Material fee includes substrate, glue and grout. Please bring in any chipped or thrifted plates, pots, shells, rocks etc to use in your mosaic. If it’s waterproof it can be used in a mosaic!
Developing A Personal and Home Protection Plan

This 2.5hr course is NOT about installing an alarm system. It is about adjusting your awareness around you as you move through your day and your home. It is about doing mental exercises to handle the “What if’s” to keep you and your loved ones safe. Learn situational awareness, conflict avoidance, and how to access your home’s defense. Part 1 of a 2-part series but can be taken separately. Class taught via Zoom.
