Paddle 1.5 miles by sea kayak after an orientation and safety briefing with Master Maine Guide, Alice in her provided kayaks. Learn about the late Civil War mixed-race community and their eviction in 1912 by the state of Maine. Learn the prehistory of the island and its current use by walking the trails on the island stopping to learn about the different sites on the island. No buildings remain. You'll have a chance to eat the snacks / lunch that you brought at the southern end of the island. Afterwards we'll paddle back to our start. You must be able to walk unaided on uneven trialls.
