Happy Families aren’t born…They’re made one day at a time. Through this video-based program, you will learn the skills that will help you develop cooperation, responsibility and self-esteem in your children, and encourage your children to be their very BEST! You’ll also learn positive discipline techniques so you can avoid those all too familiar power struggles. You will be receiving an Active Parenting Certificate upon completion of this course.

Creative Writing Workshop - Session 2

This ongoing workshop offers participants an opportunity to get the creative juices flowing, overcome the internal critic, and let heart and soul flow out onto the page! Just as importantly, it also provides a tight knit, supportive community of fellow writers with whom to share the fruits of your labor. The instructor, Elizabeth Potter, will present proven writing prompts and techniques to tickle your muse and coax even the most hesitant voice onto the page. 

Elizabeth Potter is a teacher and poet residing in Midcoast Maine. Her latest collection of poetry “T’ai Chi of Leaves” was released by Moon Pie press in September 2016. Her poems have also been widely published in literary journals both locally and nationally. Elizabeth has been leading creative writing workshops for all ages for the past nineteen years.

The monthly story hour will provide a welcoming and fun environment to listen to stories, participate in great themed activities with your children, and have a snack together. Family story hour is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to spend time together (PACT). Come and introduce your child/children to really great books and a love of reading. Special guest readers and surprise hosts are scheduled throughout the year.
