WHEN YOUR OFFICE IS SOMEONE’S HOME  

This three-hour course is for anyone who goes into someone else’s home to do work, repairs, estimates, sales, nursing, or outside the home contractors. How can you be safe? Learn the basics to access the surroundings, stay safe and protect yourself without using a firearm.

Part 3 of a 3-part series but can be taken separately.

I am a Master Maine Guide who has been guiding for over 40 years, running my own full year guiding business (Alice's Awesome Adventures), former Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Guides Board Examiner, and 1:1 trainer. Many current Registered Maine Guides trained with me. I  have been a teacher in public education, adult education, online education, and for non-profit organizations since 1968.

This three-hour course is for anyone that goes into someone else’s home to do work, repairs, estimates, sales, nursing, or outside-the-home contractors. How can you be safe? Learn the basics to access the surroundings, stay safe, and protect yourself without using a firearm. Part 3 of a 3-part series but can be taken separately. Students must have an audio and video-enabled laptop, desktop, or tablet with reliable internet to participate in class. We do not recommend using a smartphone.

Growing your Veggie Green Thumb

Join in on a gardening adventure and unlock the joys of cultivating your own sustainable food source. This is a opportunity to dive into the whole vegetable gardening process including planning and preparation to nurturing and harvesting. Class 1 here at York Adult Education, Class 2 at the community garden, Class 3 at Riverside Farm North Berwick, going over plan and selecting plants. You'll gain a deeper understanding about various vegetable varieties, soil preparation, seed starting, plant selection, transplanting, pest and disease management, watering techniques and sustainable gardening practices. Whether you are a beginner or have some gardening experience this class is for you. Class participation is encouraged so come with you questions so we can learn from each other. Our final class will be held at a local farm stand/nursery where the instructor will assist in selecting the right plants for your vegetable garden.

Inonotus obliquus, commonly called chaga, is a fungus in the family Hymenochaetaceae. It is parasitic on birch and other trees. The sterile conk is irregularly formed and resembles burnt charcoal.
