Language Arts courses are focused on reading and writing academic texts to prepare you for a diploma, college, or career. They will help you to develop your academic and professional skills in English.  Our students are native English speakers as well as students who have finished or tested out of our ESOL levels.

Main Courses:

- 100 Level Reading/Writing Courses: Informational Text, Narrative Text, Argument Text

- 200 Level Reading/Writing Courses: Informational Text, Advanced;  Narrative Text, Advanced; Argument Text, Advanced

- 300 Level: College Writing Workshop

PAE math students learn to be flexible with numbers and are free to make mistakes, explore and choose the method that works best for them.  PAE math courses prepare you for a diploma, college or career.

Please note we have a number of credit courses offered for students who are missing the HS credits needed in order to enter their college program of choice.

• Various electives in Art, Health and the Social Sciences 

• HiSET Preparation and Career Technical Education

Please note that all students who are taking academic classes must register with Adult Education and schedule an Intake Session. Our funding is dependent upon having the correct information in our files and the purpose of intake is to gather as much pertinent information as we can about your educational goals so that we can assist you in reaching those goals. HiSET Preparation

with David Morrill, Scarborough Adult Learning Center

This is a small, individualized class designed to assist students with completing their high school diploma by concentrating on what the student needs in order to successful complete all five tests.  Students have access to HiSET Academy, an online learning platform in addition to the class time. Pre-tests are administered in class to determine readiness for the tests.

Day:  Wednesdays

Time: 4:30 – 7:30 PM
