Reading, Writing and Arithmetic FUNdamentals

Would you like to improve your skills in the 3 R’s? The coursework focuses on Reading (alphabetics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension), Writing (sentence, paragraph and short essays or stories) and Arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions and percentages). Classes are offered in a small group setting and will proceed at an individualized pace. Students must meet with ABE Coordinator Catherine Renaud for testing and registration. Please call 892-1819 to make an appointment. No class 2/20, 4/17.

Els Bennett has worked as an Education Technician for RSU 14. She works for WRAE as a math tutor for HiSET program as well as teaching in the literacy and ESOL programs.

Real World Math - Old Town

Real World Math focuses on useful applications of math, including getting the best value while shopping, calculating area and volume, understanding charts and graphs, and working with probabilities. Along the way, we will review core math topics such as fractions, decimals, percents, and ratios. A great course for those who want to brush up on their math skills for personal use or as a transition to higher education.

This is a 45-hour, high school level math class.

There is no course fee for local residents taking the class to earn their adult education high school diploma. $20 course fee for others.
