Acrylic Painting

This class covers composition, color theory, and color mixing as well as materials and techniques. You’ll learn and practice the fundamentals of painting with acrylics. Class time will provide time for experimentation, creativity and the opportunity to work on your own projects with guidance from the instructor. Beginner and Intermediate painters are both welcome! This course is designed for those of you who have decided to take the plunge and try their hand at short-term rentals. Let’s get you up and running. Practical ‘how to’ information, along with individual student’s needs, will steer this course. We’ll go through the process of setting up everyone’s profile and account, as well as talk about the best way to take photos, get those uploaded and placed in the profile. We’ll take a close look at nightly rates based on each facility, amenities, location, and time of year. We’ll discuss insurance options and any other factors that should be considered.

American Sign Language Part II

ASL Two is a continuation of ASL One. You will learn more vocabulary in sentence structure for travel, animals, home environment, and school environment to name a few. Not required but an ASL dictionary is helpful. All vocabulary and assignments/activities will be handed out in each class.

Beginner and Intermediate Electronic Soldering and Kit Building

This course is intended for the beginner, as well as, the intermediate circuit, and kit builder. The course teaches the beginner how to competently solder electronic circuitry. For the intermediate circuit and kit builder, the course provides guidance and mentoring on following kit building instructions and assembly. Instruction shall also include use of simple test equipment (provided). Beginning participants may choose from a list of simple and novel circuits to practice soldering. The intermediate may choose from a list of kits, either consumer oriented, such as a clock radio, or the more adventurous may choose from a list of ham radio kits, antenna, or coaxial cable assemblies. Participants may also bring a project of their own, such as an antique radio needing restoration, for example. Participants are expected to either purchase, as suggested in the project list, or bring their own soldering equipment.

Card-Making Workshop April W24

Make four handmade cards and learn new techniques and fun folds. All embellishments and envelopes are included. You will go home with instructions for the cards you made in class. There is a lab fee of $5 payable to the instructor on the first night of class.

Lorna has been card-making for over 25 years and teaching classes for 15 years. With every class is a special door prize.
