The instructor will show you how to save files with Microsoft Word and your free installed Windows 10 word processors. We will also cover how to create a PDF file and why we would use them. You will see how to view, organize, and find your documents, as well as place them on flash drives, external drives, and the cloud. We'll explore features to preview documents without opening them and attach documents to your email for sending. Learn all these features in the Zoom classroom! (Not for Apple/Mac users.)
13 Types of Yeast Rolls in 3 Hours!

Amazing but true! People will admire all the types of rolls that you will be able to make after just this three hour class. You will also get to make a savory braid that is both delicious and lovely to look at! Basic preparation of bread dough will be covered. Class will be part demonstration and part participation. Generous samples of the caramel pecan rolls, savory braid and all the rest will be given to each participant. Students will take home white and whole wheat dough to bake at home later.
Debra has won many awards for her baking in summer fairs and taught this class many times. She started baking bread when she was 9. Join in the fun and come home full of comfort. Bring covered tubs to take home dough.
Book Binding for Beginners

Join us for this introductory class in craft book binding. This 3-week class will cover various techniques and materials including Decorative Calligraphic Papers, Pamphlet Books, and Pocket Books. Each class will focus on a different topic. Materials & Tools provided.

Discover Your Unique Writing Voice
with Paulla Estes, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education
We often hear the pros urge us to identify our unique writer’s voice and use it well, but what is that voice and how do we locate it? Through specific, targeted writing prompts, this course will help you to detect your own elusive voice, and then learn how to build on it, strengthen it, and use it to your advantage in all your creative writing. We will look at examples of voice in published works and do LOTS of in-class writing. *One week before class begins, email instructor a writing sample (1000 words or less) that will only be shared in class if you feel comfortable. BRING – laptop or plenty of paper and pen. This 4-week class will meet once/week for 2 hours.
First Aid Training

The First Aid class includes: medical emergencies, bleeding that you can see, bleeding you cannot see, treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. The course cost includes a blend of PowerPoint and video, instructor and practical components, and a certificate of completion. This class is taught to the standards established by American Heart Association. The workbook is not included with this class. If you would like a workbook, please indicate on your registration form. Cost is $10 for the book.
Gentle Yoga S6 - Drop-In

Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty from Peace Within Yoga. Yoga is a great way to relax and improve your health and well being. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building our strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome and new students can join anytime. Maine Driving Dynamics
with Maine Driving Dynamics Instructor, Lake Region & Fryeburg Area Adult Education
This is a 2 night class, you must be present at both classes to get the credit.
The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student’s defensive driving awareness and abilities. This five-hour course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine’s highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes. The course may be taken for point reduction only once every 365 days. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a three-point credit on their driving record.
MSAD 61 Substitute Teacher Training
with Rhonda Springer, Lake Region & Fryeburg Area Adult Education
In this one-hour training, MSAD 61 staff will review the requirements for becoming a substitute teacher in MSAD 61 and how to get on the substitute list; professional expectations and best practices for substitute teachers; what to expect at the various schools in the district; and some district policy and legal information. Participants who complete this training are eligible to receive an additional $10 per day in substitute pay, and this includes current substitutes!
