Disc Golf Basics
with Windham/Raymond Adult Education
Are you interested in learning how to play disc golf and the rules associated with disc golf? We will share everything you need to know to get started from the types of discs you can throw to tips on developing your disc golf form. Disc golf is a game in which players attempt to throw a frisbee disc from a tee box into a standing basket hole. Playing disc golf can also show you a new, exciting way to exercise and spend your free time, a way to engage socially and make new friends, and even a new way to relax in an atmosphere like no other. No need to have your own set of discs to start as loaners will be available at class. $5 course fee/week is covered in the cost of the class.
Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, Part II
with Naomi Howe, Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education
This class is for those students who have taken Part I, or those who want to go ‘beyond the basics’. This class will take value scales and create value studies, use shading techniques and light studies, use viewfinders to render more accurate drawings and perspective, and take line and contour sketches to manifest quick and elegant gesture drawings. This fun class will give students confidence and insight into creating their own personal style and art. Materials: Drawing pencils, white rubber eraser, black fine-point pen, charcoal stick, and drawing pad (at least 8” x 10”). (Many of these materials will be available to 'try' and experiment with in class, so students can identify which are best for them). Please note: The book and workbook purchase is highly recommended!

Family Knitting Nights!
with Vicky Vaughn, Noble Adult & Community Education
Learn the joys of knitting with Vicky this spring! Knitting is a great way to not only get creative and make beautiful things, but it can also be a relaxing and theraputic time.
Join Vicky in this new 4-week class where she will guide both parent and child in learning just how fun and easy knitting can be. You'll learn how to cast on, master the basic knit and purl stitches, learn some tips and tricks on repairing mistakes, and learn how to read a pattern! Vicky is a passionite knitter and not only makes classes exciting for her students, but makes learning how to knit FUN!
Materials for class include:
• Size 7 Knitting Needles
• 1 pair of small scissors
• Tape measure
• 1 light color Supersaver Red Heart Yarn (7 Ounces)
This cost of the class is for a team of 2 (one parent, one child). If a parent has multiple children that would like to join, let us know! Class is limited to children ages 12 and above.

Ancient Hawaiian Hula dancing is steeped in tradition and history. In this 6-week, introductory class, participants will be immersed in the culture, language, and dance of the Hula Kahiko. This class is intended for those looking to begin an exploration of this sacred culture through the art of dance. Participants should dress for moderate activity. Participants will need to fill out a fitness waiver to participate in this class.

Handmade Cards - Session 2

Make your own cards with love. These classes will teach you how to make beautiful cards, providing instructions and techniques. You will make four unique cards, and each class will teach a different design. The instructor fee is $5 per class (payable the night of each class) and there is always a door prize. All supplies are provided.

Americorps is a program whereby citizens can Make A Difference in their community! Enroll to lend your energy and ability to advance a well-thought-out project and program. Members receive a stipend, fully paid health insurance (full time) and an education awared that can be applied to any post-secondary school’s tuition/fees.
