American Heart Association First Aid

This course covers bleeding that you can see and bleeding you cannot see; treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. A certification from the American Heart Association will be presented at course completion. Workbooks are not included with this class but can be purchased in advance for $10. Forest Therapy Walks D

Come for a relaxing nature walk with Constance, a certified Forest Therapy guide. Many of the strolls are timed to coincide with the beautiful sunset; take a break from your devices and worries and allow your imagination to connect you with the land.

Special instructions: Participants will meet at Lake George Regional Park West. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early so that we may begin on time. Cell phones will be off so that everyone will have a chance to completely immerse themselves in the experience.

Enjoy hand-making your own Pork Pot Stickers, Boiled Shrimp Wontons, and Vegetable Spring Rolls, and eat some Spare Ribs in Black Bean and Garlic Sauce, too! Chris Toy is a retired Maine educator, cooking instructor, author and Registered Maine Guide. He enjoys beach combing, where he finds his craft supplies. He creates rustic upcycled crafts by combing the coastline for driftwood, beach stone, and recycled wire from political signs. His work can be viewed on Facebook at Acadian Driftwood Arts.

Image Transfer Workshop

Join Catherine to create a unique and beautiful image transfer panel, the perfect gift for a favorite person -- or yourself. On the first night of class we will create a collage background using a variety of vintage and patterned papers to create an interesting background for the design. Once the background has been finished, an image will be chosen to transfer to a wood panel. On the second night of class, and once our transfer completely dries, we'll finish up and we add color using a variety of mixed mediums. Before you leave for the night, your panel will be sealed with a matte varnish to protect it, other options for sealing will be discussed. Workshop is 2 Days: 4/16 + 4/23. All materials included in the $25 materials fee, payable to the instructor.

Wheel Pottery EVENING Class (April 24-May 29)

Class for wheel pottery involves learning about the basics of clay and forming on the pottery wheel. Beginners start with centering and forming and by the end of the six-week class can make small bowls or cups and have completed at least 7-8 items which they have been glazed and fired. There is an additional $20 material fee due to the instructor the first night of class. Limited to 6 participants during each session.

Brings you Yoga 101 an Introduction to Yoga. Many People have curiosity about Yoga but have intimidation entering Class for the First time. We’re hoping to change that.This will be a Beginner Focused Class breaking down the ins & outs of Yoga. We’ll discuss the different styles of Yoga so you understand what kind of class suits you best.

In a Safe & Nurturing Environment you will learn to Breathe Properly. You will learn the importance of Stretching Safely & Effectively. How to calm your Nervous System. The basics of Yoga so that you leave with all the Tools to hop into any Yoga class with Confidence. Not to Mention the ability to Create your own at Home Yoga Practice.

This price is per week if you choose to do individual weeks.  We will meet every Wednesday starting April 3 until June 12th.  We will skip April vacation week.

**Cancellation Policy** If you cancel there will be a small fee taken out to cover the fee.  Cancelling 2 days before the class there will be no refund.**

Boat America

Boat America is a National Association of Boating Law Administrators certificate class that offers an in-depth and interesting boating safety course, and provides the knowledge needed to obtain a boating certificate.

Some insurance companies will also offer discounts on boating insurance to boaters who successfully complete this course.

Introduction to Boating – Types of power boats, boating vocabulary, sailboats, paddle boats, powering boats, and engine types.

Boating Law – Boat registration, regulations, hull identification numbers, required safety equipment, Federal boating law, state boating law, and reporting accidents.

Safety Equipment – Life jackets, fire extinguishers, sound-producing devices, visual distress signals, anchors, and other safety equipment.

Safe Operation and Navigation – Buoys and beacons, aids to navigation, navigation rules, docking, and the dangers of alcohol on the water.

Boating Emergencies – Hypothermia, boating accidents, man overboard, capsizing, emergency radio calls, carbon monoxide dangers, and weather.

Trailering – Types of trailers, lights, hitches, towing a trailer.

Sports and Boating – Water-skiing, hunting and hunting gear, PWC operation, and other boating tips.
