There is still a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about Maine’s compassionate end-of-life care option. Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine’s Death with Dignity Act. In effect since September 2019, the law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. Join this class to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine’s law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved ones who may be qualifying.
ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification March 30 W24

Maine law requires every food service establishment to have a certified manager on duty at all times. The ServSafe® Manager Certification lasts five years. Be ServSafe® certified!
ServSafe training and certification are made easy with a one-day session. Fully interactive, live instructor-led food safety course delivered in a traditional classroom setting.
ServSafe Managers Courses are a one-day format, with class and exam on the same day. A break will be given for lunch, students are on their own for lunch and are free to leave the campus. The examination usually begins around 3:00 PM. Once the student has completed the exam, they are dismissed

Working (or thinking about a career) in real estate, construction, transportation, insurance, public safety, photography? Discover how Mainers are using drones in their business settings, and how you could start your own business! We’ll also talk about opportunities for further training! There’s a good bit of technical reading involved, and you should be comfortable browsing the internet.

Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid (AHA)
with Samuel Meyers, United Technologies Center - Adult Education
Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid is the American Heart Association's comprehensive first aid/CPR course. It covers a wide variety of topics, including:
- First aid basics
- Medical emergencies
- Injury emergencies
- Preventing illness and injury
- Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and AED use
- Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
If you have little or no medical training and would like to learn how to perform CPR, use an AED, and administer first aid, this is the course for you. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Heart Association.
In-person class with a break for lunch. Students are encouraged to bring a lunch; although students are able to leave to pick up takeout.

If UTC Adult Ed office or instructor cancel class, refunds will be issued to students.
FYI ... UTC Adult Ed must have a minimum of 3 students to have this class. If not, you will be notified and if possible with your schedule moved to the next class date.
How To Play Piano by Ear

Learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. A very practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing-all expressed in everyday language. This is an ideal follow-up to the “Instant Piano” class and is open to anyone who has a basic understanding of chords on any instrument. Expand your musical horizons, and free yourself from sheet-music dependence, and be the life of the party! Prior experience with chords recommended. Fee includes the online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class and an optional monthly question and answer session. Class is held online using zoom.
