Work One-On-One with a Pharmacy Technician Trainer and entirely online with support from a Pharmacy Technician and Trainer.  The Pharmacy Technician is one of the fastest growing jobs in health care today.  In this course, you will learn everything from the role of the technician in the pharmacy setting, to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB exam.  You will learn complete drug information that includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage and more of hundreds of drugs.  You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with a concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up to date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines and safety procedures.  You will be ready to pass your PTCB national certification included in cost.

New grants are available for Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, and CNA training programs.

The Phlebotomist is a vital member of the clinical laboratory team who obtains a patient’s blood specimens by venipuncture and micro collection for testing purposes. Phlebotomists are employed across the healthcare system. Classroom and clinical experience at Bridgton Hospital includes medical terminology, blood collection, procedures, specimen hands-on practice, and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.

Class includes the National Healthcareer Association’s Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. Clinical experience for this class is held at Bridgton Hospital, Bridgton, Me.

Class size is limited.

Become Nationally Certified in 10 weeks as a Phlebotomy Technician by professionals in the industry.  Our course is all-inclusive and in-depth. You will be able to: Perform basic phlebotomy procedures; Evaluate patients for the ability to withstand venipuncture procedure; Explain the venipuncture procedure and answer patient questions; Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients; Prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing according to established standards.  Clinicals are performed during the class, including 75 sticks, and will require immunization records prior to enrollment. Tuition includes national certification, books, resume and job assistance.

If you answered yes, this Spanish class - designed specifically for healthcare professionals - will help you bridge that gap. You will practice the basic, practical language skills needed to effectively communicate with your Spanish-speaking patients and their families. You will learn the basics of the language, gain an understanding of the culture, and know-how to ask the questions crucial to quality healthcare.   Whether you speak some Spanish and need a refresher, or speak no Spanish, you will complete the course with the skills you will need to effectively communicate with your Spanish-speaking patients.

Clinical Medical Assitants (CMA) are an essential role in healthcare and are in high demand locally!

CMAs work with providers mainly in outpatient facilities; they are a critical part of a patient’s care team.

Our CCMA program provides instruction, lab practice, and hands-on training. Externships are completed at the end of the course.

CMA training includes:

  •   Administrative and clinical duties
  •   Preparing patients for examinations and treatment
  •   Updating medical records - EMR
  •   Taking and documenting vital signs
  •   Routine lab procedures
  •   Diagnostic testing, including EKG
  •   Basic phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle
  •   Workplace expectations and professionalism
  •   Training includes an externship prior to employment

Additional CCMA courses include: Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Medical Math.
