Caregivers' Guide for Dementia-Related Illness W24
with Heather Preston-Weeks, Augusta Adult and Community Education
Free
Are you caring for someone with a dementia-related illness? Do you have questions about behaviors, the progression of the disease, or how to deal with difficult situations that arise? Would you like to have a place to talk about your frustrations with others in the same situation?
In this workshop, learn about the effects of dementia-related diseases, coping strategies, best practices, and ways to keep your loved one engaged at every step of the journey. Home safety and best practices will be addressed.
This course also provides group support for caregivers who may be feeling alone, stressed, and have no place to vent their feelings. Helpful community resources and respite will also be explored. (Classes are for caregivers, not the recipient of care.
Many sensitive topics will be discussed relating directly to those you care for, or those recently diagnosed. It would not be appropriate for these individuals to be present for such discussions.
Sessions are held on-site at Granite Hill Estates, 60 Balsam Dr, Hallowell, ME 04347
